Facility Operation and Maintenance Managers

These managers are responsible for the over all operations and maintenance of commercial, industrial, institutional, recreational and other facilities. This includes airports, shopping and community centres, warehouses, office buildings and sports facilities. These occupations also include facility operation managers, such as arena and marina managers. They also include maintenance managers, such as facilities maintenance heads, mechanical plant maintenance and maintenance and service superintendents.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • A college diploma in business administration or facilities operation, or a trade certificate in maintenance may be required.

Future Prospects:

Employment prospects for these occupations are moderate over the next ten years. Employment is expected to peak around 2017, and fall slightly over the long term.
